01Overview

A mobile wellness experience built around an established psychological methodology, combining structured learning, interactive exercises and AI-assisted guidance.

I worked with the client to translate extensive written content and early product ideas into an accessible mobile experience. The underlying framework and four-stage program came from the client.

My contribution focused on intuitive journeys, flexible content interactions and a coherent interface that could support a large, evolving collection of educational material.

Scope

  • Translating expert-authored methodology into mobile flows and screens
  • Onboarding, journey structure and progress navigation
  • Reusable templates for text, video, quizzes, selections and exercises
  • Exploring multiple UX directions with the client before locking interactions
  • User-facing conversational guide and personalized insight presentation
  • Visual and interaction consistency across a large content library

02The challenge

A methodology without a digital form

The client brought a well-developed methodology, not a fully defined digital experience.

A book can explain concepts in sequence. An application has to help people explore them through manageable interactions, exercises and a reason to continue.

The work was turning substantial expert-authored content into a mobile experience that felt approachable, structured and consistent - without presenting the app as treatment or a substitute for therapy.

03

From methodology to mobile journey

The experience opens with an extensive onboarding flow that captures the user's circumstances. That information later informs AI-powered personalization.

The primary experience, My Journey, organises the client's four-stage methodology into sections and subsections of educational material and interactive exercises.

The framework was the client's. I translated it into mobile navigation, flows and screen structure so people can move through the program without reading it as a book.

04

Designing a flexible content system

Supporting many kinds of content without designing every lesson as its own interface was the structural problem.

I developed a reusable library of mobile screen templates for written content, video, questions, selections, quizzes and exercises.

Those patterns became the building blocks of the guided journey. The client's team uses them to assemble structured learning experiences in their existing administration tools.

The aim was consistency: different learning interactions should still feel like one product.

05

Exploring the right user experience

The client often brought new ideas rather than finished specifications.

For many features I explored several interaction and interface directions, then reviewed them with stakeholders.

Iterative sessions refined how activities, content and navigation should work - especially when an abstract concept needed a practical mobile interaction.

Alternative interface directions explored for the same activity.

06

Integrating AI guidance and personalization

Alongside the structured program, the application includes a conversational guide that assists within the expert's methodology and defined behavioural guidelines.

I designed the user-facing conversation, how that guidance sits next to the journey, and the output structure engineers used to connect it to the program.

The product also generates a personalized profile snapshot - recurring patterns and relevant suggestions drawn from information the user has provided.

The intent is to complement the guided program with reflection. The guide is not a clinician, and the experience does not establish a therapeutic relationship.

07Outcome

The core mobile application has been developed and released to a limited group of early users. Further features are still in development, and the public website has not announced general availability.

The project brought a substantial expert-authored methodology into a flexible mobile experience, supported by reusable content templates and AI-assisted personalization.

It shows how I translate specialised knowledge into an approachable consumer product, work through open design problems with a client, and build interaction patterns that can scale with the content.
